ABSTRACT

The thickness of the overburden deposits varies substantially along the alignment. The project borings indicate that the soil cover is relatively thin along 41st Street and generally increases in thickness westward toward Eleventh Avenue and southward towards 25th Street. The overburden typically consists of glacial and post-glacial soils, overlain by recent manmade fill. Generally, the naturally derived soils include glacial till, modified glacial drift, sand and gravels, and some glacio-lacustrine silts and clays.
