ABSTRACT
An extensive load testing programme was conducted in 1995 on a 0.76 m outer diameter pipe pile in very dense sands at Eemshaven, The Netherlands. A highly instrumented pile was driven and tested at one location, extracted and redriven and tested at a second location. Static compression and tension tests were performed at three penetration depths (30.5 m, 38.7 m and 47.0 m) at the first location and at one penetration depth (46.7 m) at the second location. The latter series of tests was repeated after 1.5 years.
