ABSTRACT
A major trend in the industry is that most of the structures considered and built in deep waters only require geotechnical design parameters to a depth of a few meters to a few tens of meters. This is the case for lines in contact with seabed (pipelines, flowlines, umbilicals, Steel Catenary Risers) and for suction caissons used for anchoring or for supporting subsidiary structures.
