ABSTRACT
We discuss in the next section the balance laws of the linear – and of the angular momentum for a Cosserat continuum. We seek, in Section 3, for the analogous micromechanical expressions, by assembling the balance laws of each grain. A contradiction is put in evidence, whose solution clarifies the analogy and gives an insight into the aforementioned issues, as discussed in the last section.
