ABSTRACT
The stress and deformation of the surrounding rock are influenced by different tunneling methods and sequences. Especially, for partial excavation methods, different construction sequences have different stress paths, which affect final stress and displacement fields of surrounding rock as well as support structures. Accordingly, tunneling methods and construction sequences are of importance for tunneling safety and are also key concerns for the engineers.
