ABSTRACT
Industrial mineral exploitations are usually carried out in open pit mines, since they are characterized by lower production costs than the underground exploitation of the same ore. The underground option is however unavoidable when environmental preservation is necessary and when the topography of the area does not allow the creation of an open pit mine.
