ABSTRACT
Can one theologize without walls and simultaneously affiliate with a particular religious tradition? I argue that one can, because affiliators are not undoing what they have found from affiliation by thinking outside it; they are rather adding knowledge to it. I identify and address in turn three specific objections this line of thought faces and along the way offer a new view I call “partialism” that suggests diverse religionists have to pool their knowledge in order to understand the Ultimate.
