ABSTRACT

This part introduction presents an overview of the key concepts discussed in the subsequent chapters. The part is concerned with a project or results, including a central illustration of a model, method and/or tool, and possibly short descriptions. The criteria for selection and presentation was that the results should be applicable in practice, varies both for whom they are relevant to be used by and how easy they are to use in practice. The overall research profile for Centre for Facilities Management was from the beginning formulated as follows: research in; space for people; buildings with use value; and property and infrastructure that facilitates. The part considers the scenarios for Facilities Management (FM) in the future, and deals with the author’s personal evaluations based on the possible developments in two dimensions with great uncertainty for the future development in FM: the economy in Northern Europe and the global climate.
