ABSTRACT
This chapter presents the yearly statistics of publications devoted to the RNA phages and highlights some future perspectives of the RNA phage applications. The rapid progress of the evolutionary studies is emphasized, which appeared possible due to the rapid progress of the metagenomic sequencing. In this light, the evolutionary studies are recommended as the most direct way for the discovery of novel RNA phage VLP carriers and for the further participation of the RNA phages in the invaluable progress of bionanotechnology. At last, the rapid development of the revolutionary bacterial immunity and phage therapy investigations is scrutinized from the point of view of the RNA phage field.
