ABSTRACT

Building Information Modelling (BIM) corresponds to generation and management of the digital representation of the building products (and processes) by containing building elements in a unique source file. Open BIM, relying on the platform-independent standard Ifc (Industry Foundation Classes), created by BuidlingSMART, is supposed to increase the interoperability in BIM environment. BIM, as a shared work platform in AEC, can be upgraded to act as an Enterprise Resource Management (ERM) system and support data mining for management of design and construction processes. eXtensibile Event Stream (XES) is an eXtensible Markup Language (XML) aims to provide a format for supporting the interchange of event logs. XES-based Event logs normally include some semantics regarding events, called extensions. In the end, process mining on the foundation of BIM (as an ERM system) is used for discovery, monitoring and optimizing BIM processes. The present study aims to facilitate applications of process mining in AEC industry, through BIM.
