It would have been easy to provide story after story of violent authoritarian aggressiveness from the responses I received. But it’s important for you as a helper to understand that your client may have been harmed by an aggressiveness that did not involve physical assault but that involved the aggressive use of rules, as I described previously, and by the aggressive use of standards, as you’ll see in this chapter.
