ABSTRACT

A useful analytical framework in assessing faith-based development work is the notion of poverty as a result of the simultaneous failure on the part of markets, government, and civil society. This notion of poverty as the result of a triadic failure allows us to see how faith-based organizations (FBOs) mitigate market and government failure. A major hurdle in the study of FBO development work is the lack of data. This, however, is not insurmountable, given the amount of information that can be gleaned from public sources, the Internet in particular.
