ABSTRACT

Photovoltaic (PV) solar power is a renewable and clean energy source, with recent technological advancement, solar cells have made great progress and are widely used in portable electronic products. Mobile phones have now become an indispensable electronic product in our daily lives, however the current capacity of lithium-ion batteries for mobile phones cannot satisfy user needs, so it is necessary to charge our mobile phones almost every day. When outdoors, difficulties in phone charging could bring great inconvenience to our communication and entertainment needs. In this paper, we design a low-cost portable mobile phone solar charger which uses the STC89C52 single-chip as the control core, the LCD1602 liquid crystal display for voltage and power current display, and the LM2596 for voltage conversion from high input voltage to low voltage. In addition, the ADC0832 chip is used for the ADC to convert analog signal to digital, and convert voltage acquisition data into digital data. In this research, hardware and software design, design implementation, and performance testing are conducted, achieving the design of a portable and low-cost mobile phone solar charger. The research allows for solar cell application diversification, and the low-cost advantage of the conceived product also allows the research results of this paper to have the potential for commercialization.
