ABSTRACT

Modern people cannot live without digital products and networks. The design of the digital world has become more and more important. User-oriented design is a design process for understanding user needs and user’s learning impact on the design product. The processes of user-oriented design include Explore, Discover, Design and Deliver. This study probes how the visual elements of the Web influence users’ experiences and learning. Researchers aim to analyze a website through several visual and interface design theories, such as Fitts’ Law and Aesthetic Usability Effect to find out what is a user centered design. In this study, researchers use a qualitative research method to analyze the website of a private university in Changhua. The analyzed content includes web visual elements, web layout, Web animation and website structure. The results show that a well-designed website which considers users’ needs, the aesthetic and concentrates on users’ experiences can influence users’ learning and ways of using the website.
