ABSTRACT

Air pollution is the major contributing factor in the origination of acid rain, which is harmful for humans, wildlife, trees, vegetation, etc. Other negative impacts of air pollution include global warming, which can cause various types of skin diseases. From the research study of various air pollutant concentrations from various sources of emission, matter of course, i.e., particulate matter, and sulfur dioxide play the most contributing role in determining the air quality level, thereby leading to bad human health conditions. Andersson et al. (2007) made an effort to study the air condition level of Delhi, using air quality index (AQI). AQI is a tool, basically a numerical quantity, used to indicate the level of pollutant concentration in air. AQI alerts the general public about the alarming concentration of pollutants so that young children and elderly people become more cautious toward their health. The concept of AQI effectively determines the air quality condition.
