ABSTRACT

After completing data analysis in Chapter 3 according to the research question and protocol developed in Chapter 2, you have not yet finished your job. The greatest idea for the greatest data will not lead to the greatest article without proper manuscript writing. Manuscript writing is a skill that you can learn (which is the goal of this chapter) and develop (which should be your goal, by writing frequently), to deliver and communicate your findings to your readers. For open data research, there are also more skills to master in manuscript writing compared to conventional research, where you collect the data yourself. It is our goal in the first section to guide you through proper manuscript writing, detailing all aspects ranging from results reporting to choosing keywords, which are derived from the most recent results-reporting guidelines. After you have finished the manuscript, it is then time to publish it by choosing the best journal that your research fits in, which is the focus of the second section of this chapter.
