ABSTRACT

This chapter explores the process of working in partnership with communities to define the vision for the Denver Art Museum’s Morgridge Creative Hub, a new learning and engagement space that is part of the J. Landis & Sharon Martin Building revitalization project. We have inherited a bold building originally designed by Gio Ponti and James Sudler, whose architecture frames how the space is experienced, and been given the opportunity to create new educational spaces informed by programmatic needs and audience involvement. The chapter shares a co-visioning practice, including the considerations, adaptations, and lessons learned while still in process.
