ABSTRACT

This chapter highlights how the Adobe Creative Cloud applications can be used in conjunction with one another to translate the designer's idea into a finished design. A hypothetical project outlines how Photoshop CC, Illustrator CC and InDesign CC would be used to produce an effective design. Next, attention shifts to the subject of Adobe software updates and the resources available to designers via each application's Learn & Support website. The designer is encouraged to use these online resources to further their software skills, exploring additional tools and processes in order to expand their personal design toolset. The benefits of developing a portfolio are presented as the chapter's final topic. Consideration is given to print and digital presentation of the designer's work. Suggestions are provided regarding what to include in (and leave out of) the portfolio, along with best practices for the presentation of these works. Frequently asked questions are answered, enriching the discussion. The chapter concludes with discussion questions based on developing a portfolio and expanding the audience for a designer's work.
