This chapter provides a definitional and conceptual framework of the key terms and notions used and referred to in this book in order to facilitate the critical analysis of challenging the far-right. It will look at terms habitually used to describe the phenomenon under examination and consider Minkenberg’s three entities which exist within the far-right, namely political parties, non-party movements and the subculture milieu, ascertaining their characteristics. Furthermore, the chapter looks at hate speech and hate crime as manifestations of the far-right.
