ABSTRACT

Current international research shows that most of the population wants to live in private house known community. In order to ensure this requirement, the accessibility of living space itself must be, both in its internal disposition and in its outer space, fully and correctly designed. The article focuses on the design of residential buildings using the principles of the universal design. For the apartment itself, it is primarily about the adaptability of the space in order to minimize or simplify the necessary adaptations resulting from the changing needs of its users throughout their lifetime. A few principles of universal design were monitored, which were implemented on the internal environment of the apartment, along with barrier-free requirements. Defining specific requirements can make a significant contribution to enhancing the adaptability and the quality of housing, especially in the area of flexibility and universality of the dwelling and the subsequent laying down of basic technical standards.
