ABSTRACT

Department of Steel and Timber Structures has a long-term partnership with EUSTREAM (transit gas pipeline administrator in Slovakia) to ensure uninterrupted supply of natural gas to western Europe. Since 1998 a regular diagnostic inspections on bridgings and other important gas pipeline components have been performed by Department of Steel and Timber Structures. According to the long-term partnership EUSTREAM and Department of Steel and Timber structures, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Slovak University of Technology was asked to carry out a static assessment of selected structures. Two of the most important gas pipeline structural components are described in the paper. A friction clamp ring on the newly built anchoring block near Sikenica bridging on 1st transit line (pipe diameter—DN1200). The whole bridging Sikenica and interaction bridging- 1st and 2nd transit line according to planned rectification works is described.
