ABSTRACT

This paper presents the methodology of construction site safety integral criterion determination with implementation of lean construction tools. For this purpose, several groups of occupational risks were defined due to classification based on its origin (general group, individual protective equipment absence, working at heights, construction machinery and mechanisms, construction site energy supply, noise and vibration, maintenance of the construction site and workplaces, materials storage), the critical boundaries of each dangerous factor are given. The mathematical dependency between the main parameters is determined. The algorithm for decision making on safety management using lean manufacturing tools is proposed depending on the value of the integral criterion. This methodology allows to clearly identify the part of the construction site that is in the greatest risk area, enabling engineers to respond quickly to deviations from baseline construction cost and schedule.
