ABSTRACT

To check their motivation, children need to consent to trauma processing and formulate why it is beneficial, which they have learned through psychoeducation. When the child is able to make an overview of his traumatic memories in a nutshell without becoming overwhelmed, the child is ready to process them. More stabilizing interventions are needed, when the child does not pass this Nutshell Check. Something may have been missed and barriers can be analysed again with the Barriers Form.
