ABSTRACT

To engage in dialogue is to be as present as one can be, whether that’s one-on-one or in a group. It’s hard to be present if we are distracted, and so one role of the facilitator is to create an environment that offers the opportunity for people to be more fully present in the moment. Regardless of the setting, people often turn up to conversations distracted by things happening somewhere else. Especially these days, when most people are very busy, and we have various devices that allow us to be in contact 24 hours a day, every day, with people all over the world.
