ABSTRACT

Teachers can prepare their students for a test without building meaningful relationships with them – but test results are not the only goal of a good teacher. When graduates come back to visit teachers, they visit the ones who took an interest in them. Good teachers just teach lessons, they teach students, and the personal connections they form will always trump the curriculum and the pedagogy. The weeks rolled by uneventfully, and he successfully finished his time in the alternative school. The best teachers do not always have the best lessons, but they always have the best relationships with their students. And in some cases, the lessons are even possible without those relationships.
