ABSTRACT

This chapter, written by a School Leader, will explore the issues faced by teachers as a follow-up to recent policy changes and the adjustments made to the presenting issues. In each segment, insights on the role of the School Leader in enabling and supporting the necessary adjustments will be discussed. Some of the key issues are how the school effected assessment change, in order to support the non-reporting of marks for the younger learners, and the role of the School Leader in navigating some early resistance from the teachers. The chapter also focuses on the use of rubrics in alternative assessment for English, and in assessing learning dispositions.
