ABSTRACT
1Social work serves as a link between general social policies of the welfare state and individual claims for help and support. The purpose of social work is to provide organised – and thus controllable – help and support for people who are threatened by different kinds of social exclusion. Help and support measures range from economic aid, counselling, and pro-active drug prevention to consultation for victims of domestic violence.
