ABSTRACT
In this chapter, I examine Deleuze’s readings and appropriations of Spinoza and Nietzsche, suggesting that the rhizomatic connections that result in a Spinoza–Nietzsche assemblage anticipate and lead to what Deleuze and Guattari call their “magic formula … PLURALISM = MONISM”. I explore this formula in terms of their discussion of desiring production in Anti-Oedipus, and conclude with suggestions as to the political possibilities this formula opens.
