ABSTRACT
This chapter examines the discursive production and construction of gendered identities during discussions on widow inheritance. Gender and sexuality serve as analytical lenses, illuminating them as zones in which power is inscribed and re-embedded. Analysis in this chapter is attentive to the lived and discursive production of gender, sex and sexuality and its intersection with the nation-/state-building project in Kenya.
