ABSTRACT

A solar cell represents a photovoltaic cell which is used to convert the light from the sun in electricity through a direct mechanism. Due to the fact that polymer solar cell have a high mechanic flexibility and can be manufactured at low temperature, they represent a good alternative to the classical silicon solar cells. The solar cells represent one of the main instruments obtaining solar energy, being both resourceful and clean and presenting a high availability. There are several classes of solar cells, such as thin film solar cell, flexible solar cell or tandem solar cell. There are many types of solar cells with a flat panel, such as silicon and amorphous silicon solar cells or dye-sensitized solar cells. A solar cell can be also used to measure the solar energy which is available below water surface at any depth.
