ABSTRACT

The major user of dispute boards is the World Bank and its rules along with those of FIDIC and that is all covered in this chapter. Samples of forms used by the World Bank and in all FIDIC contracts are shown and also how members of dispute boards are paid and when. Also covered are how and when hearings are had and the special category used by the World Bank of Dispute Review Experts – including rules and procedures. Additionally, other multilateral development banks and their use of dispute boards and forms used are covered including the African Development Bank, the Asian Development Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and others are discussed.
