ABSTRACT
This chapter examines the process of bringing The Lion King from screen to stage. It follows the journey of the production from Michael Eisner’s demand that the show be staged, to the numerous international productions of the show. The Lion King is Disney Theatrical Production’s most successful production to date and this chapter examines the elements that led to the show’s favorable critical and popular reception.
