ABSTRACT
This chapter is the third of three exercise plays within the book. The student director is asked to read the short play and then apply a series of guiding questions in the following chapter as initial exercises in the director’s process. These practical exercises help student directors apply collaborative stage directing principles in the safety of the classroom or workshop setting. Social Media Intermezzo 1.0 is a short three-character play set in breakfast room. Moving at a rapid pace with minimal spoken word or personal interaction, the Husband, Wife and Maid rush through their morning rituals, eyes glued to their iPhones.
