ABSTRACT
This chapter broadens the list of guiding questions used in the book’s previous application exercises into a checklist format. The guiding questions checklist covers all three phases of the directorial process and breaks down the steps to include: initial exploration, physical space considerations, and planning/scheduling during the Planning Phase, pre-production meetings and audition requirements during the Pre-Production Phase, and early rehearsals, blocking rehearsals, refining rehearsals, and tech during the Rehearsal Phase. Student directors are encouraged to use this compilation of guiding questions in the preparation of their own independent directing projects to aid in the collaborative process.
