ABSTRACT
This chapter is an application exercise specific to the Preparation Phase of the directorial process, based on the reading of the short play Goggles. It contains a series of specific guiding questions to help the student director analyze the play, develop a concept, consider a possible physical space for production, and prepare for the audition requirements specific to the production of Goggles. These practical exercises help the student director apply collaborative stage directing principles in the safety of the classroom or workshop setting. The chapter ends with Activities for Self-Reflection for the student’s personal and professional growth.
