ABSTRACT

The large number of dreams of children in the elementary schools available for examination makes the results more reliable than those in other schools in which there was less material for investigation. The majority of the dreams recorded being at the end of November, and the early part of December, there were many prospective dreams of Christmas, especially among the girls of eight and nine years of age. Anything in the nature of sentiment between members of the opposite sex is very rarely found in the dreams of children from eight to fourteen years of age, but is more common in girls’ than in boys’ dreams. The number of clearly expressed fulfilled wishes differs considerably in boys’ and girls’ dreams, the percentage varying from about 28 per cent, in the case of boys, to 42 percent, in the case of girls.
