ABSTRACT
The following narrative I took from the mouth of the individual, as she related it, a few days ago, while the tears rolled down the furrows in her grief-worn cheeks-the circumstances, and her unaffected manner of relating them, deeply affected my heart with sympathy for the victims of a system which dooms its innocent objects to such complicated misery.
