ABSTRACT
Rarely a patient is referred to the urgent eye care service with something unusual at the back of the eye. Such patients are commonly referred after optometry visits for routine sight tests with unusual localised changes on retinal examination. This chapter details common causes including malignant, vascular and pigmented retinal lesions. The author details how to differentiate between them, which appearances are high risk and how to investigate them.
