ABSTRACT
This chapter works through a patient presenting with swelling or inflammation of one or both eyelids. A method of categorising the causes according to common presentations are included, highlighting the sight-threatening serious pathology and the treatment needed. Examination of the eye, lids and orbit are included to help the reader form a structured examination, to identify the necessary signs for concern, including when to administer aggressive treatment and when to involve a multi-disciplinary team.
