ABSTRACT

Anterior segment inflammation of the eye can cause the patient pain when stimulated by light, termed photophobia. This chapter details causes of photophobia, a method of constructing a list of differential diagnoses and how to manage them. Anterior uveitis is one such cause, a common condition presenting to the eye casualty that all must be aware of. Not all cases need investigating; the author details clearly when and how to investigate potential associations or causes and methods of treatment.
