ABSTRACT

Bere begins the fifth part of the "Filostrato”,in which Criseida is given back. Troilo accompanies her, returns to Troy, weeps alone and afterwards with Pandaro, through whose counsel they go to spend some days with Sarpedon. They return to Troy, where each place reminds Troilo of Criseida, and to mitigate his sorrows, he sings of them, waiting until the tenth day passes. And first of all to Diomede is given back Criseida whom Troilo accompanies as far as the outside of the city, and having parted from him, she is joyfully received by her father.
