ABSTRACT

The human heart beats anywhere from 50 to 100 times per minute. On average, the human heart beats 72 times in a minute. This rumination on research comprises 72 short sections for generating a lively and heartful connection with the earth. Hooks understands that "to open our hearts more fully to love's power and grace we must dare to acknowledge how little we know of love in both theory and practice". The chapter presents research that acknowledges the tangled messiness of the heart's desires and demands, research that honours the tangled mysteries of the heart's dynamic beating like a winter storm that compels us. It explores the experience of being in a location that promotes becoming. When we begin to listen to our bodies, we begin to listen to reality through our own experiences; we begin to trust our intuition, our hearts. In ancient Greek and Roman rhetoric, orators relied on three main sources of evidence to support their speeches.
