ABSTRACT
A mermaid presents to your GP clinic. She had refused to see the male medical student. She is a bit embarrassed and after some excellent use of Pendleton’s consultation model, you elicit that she is suffering from a vaginal discharge. She describes this as smelling strongly of fish. She becomes a bit tearful as she says that she recently had sexual intercourse with a handsome prince and is worried that he has been unfaithful to her. You send a sample to the lab who say there is a positive ‘whiff’ test and the presence of clue cells.
