ABSTRACT

A young lady who goes by the name of Cindy is brought to the emergency department by her new boyfriend. She tells you she was trying on a new pair of glass slippers when she twisted awkwardly on her left ankle. The ankle has become swollen and bruised and she is unable to walk on that foot. You examine her and find some bruising and swelling on the lateral side of the ankle and you suspect an ankle sprain. Her boyfriend is very pushy and is insistent on her being radiographed.
