ABSTRACT

The words, the fervent loves, the wonderful beauty, and the angelic sound of notes which he had never before heard, all together filled Ameto with wonder beyond measure; and as he thought within himself, he wanted to be Affron, and deemed him the happiest above all lovers. In fact, he said that far fewer pleas would have been sufficient to entice him; indeed quite the contrary, if he thought it could be of avail, he would offer his own entreaties to the nymph.
