ABSTRACT

Tied by a new bond, Ameto returns home? and he whiles away his time thinking solely of the lovely nymph. The nights, which once seemed short to him because of the heavy labors in the deep woods, now are considered exceedingly long because of his burning desires. Disturbed by cares unknown till then, he curses the overlong darkness; indeed barely does the light enter his wakeful eyes than he rises and goes with his dogs to find the woods? and there he searches for the lovely nymphs, and either he finds them or he waits for them.
