ABSTRACT
Chapter 2 deals with the formation of contracts in the UK, oral contracts and letters of intent as well as the issue of when a contract is formed and when one can avoid performing under a contract: Uncertainty and Misrepresentation versus mistake. Areas of concern to construction law practitioners deal with the types of form contracts, the “battle of the forms” and related difficulties.
