ABSTRACT

A 16-year-old female presents with a family history of intestinal polyps. Her mother has a history of colon resection for these polyps. She recently had her first colonoscopy due to rectal bleeding. This showed 100+ polyps. She denies symptoms of abdominal pain, diarrhea, or constipation. She has no other medical history. She comes to your clinic after genetic testing reveals APC gene mutation. Her mother has had multiple upper endoscopies as well, which have been normal.
