ABSTRACT

The main focus of this work is to analyse air traffic control procedures in relation to technological innovations, where the human-computer interface, communication and treatment of information are factors of extreme importance.

There is a need to emphasise the link between cognitive ergonomics and the communication processes of the controller. What enables the controller to take the correct decisions, undertake their tasks correctly and understand all the information in order to give the right information to the pilots that are in contact with the control centre. It is necessary to study the impact of this technological change: how well will new automated systems be accepted by the controller? It is important to note that inadequate implementation of a new air traffic control system could result in a loss of productivity that could have a negative impact on flight safety.
