ABSTRACT

Doug remembers how the first Lean Management System was rolled out at Square M's. It came from the corporate headquarters, which in and of itself was not filled with credibility or appreciation. It seemed to have been a mandate from above that theoretically sounded useful and reasonable, but that was much easier said than done. Theories of engaging all of the employees in helping improve the business and, better yet, helping them feel empowered sounded absolutely awesome. How could anyone disagree with that?!
